Coffee Liquors – The perfect starter

Posted on 15 June 2010 by admin

One of the most common and popular ways to incorporate your favorite coffee flavored liquor into your beverage repertoire is to simply add from a splash to a couple shots of the product to your current favorite coffee beverage. Whether you prefer your coffee hot or cold, coffee liquors can be easily incorporated to what you are already drinking.

This is because there are so many high quality coffee liquors available (even Starbucks has announced that they are getting in on the craze, which should prove to be a profitable and delicious venture) and they can be used in so many different ways, from mixing drinks to making dessert. And whether you prefer your coffee black, with milk and sugar, hot or cold, you can probably find a coffee liquor product that you can incorporate into your coffee (or partying) regimen.

Unlike before, these products are more widely available and diversified, and whether you are in for something high end or inexpensive, rest assured that you will be able to find exactly what you are in the market for.

Of course, once you have your coffee liquors, there is the matter of deciding what you want to do with it. These products can be added to a variety of beverages (hot or cold, simple or exotic), drank straight from a shot glass or on the rocks, or added to an increasingly wide variety of recipes. No matter what you want to add a splash of coffee flavor to, you can usually find a way to do it with your favorite coffee liquor.

One way of fitting in your favorite coffee flavored liquor into your selection of beverages is to simply add from a splash to a couple shots of the products to your current favorite coffee beverage. Whether you prefer your coffee hot or cold, coffee liquors can be easily incorporated to what you are already drinking.

Indeed, more and more bars and clubs are cashing in on the current coffee craze by creating alcohol-infused, coffee flavored beverages similar to the non-alcoholic concoctions that are available at the coffee shop that you probably frequent at least once a week. And for roughly the same price. Of course, you can make many of these same drinks in the privacy of your own home, and for a fraction of the price. The key is to find the coffee liquor that best suits your needs and start from there.

In fact, if you currently have a pseudo-gourmet coffee beverage that you have been looking to spice up, you probably need look no further. Just adding a shot of any of the commercially available coffee liquors to your drink is a fast, easy, and effective way to change it up and create a new favorite. You can even add a splash of coffee liquor to straight black coffee and get spectacular results. Just make sure that you keep the ratio of coffee to liquor appropriate, or you might end up with a less than pleasing taste experience.

Liquor Distillery Equipment ? Every Home Should Have it

Posted on 29 May 2010 by admin

How any times have you sat watching an old 1920′s gangster flick and couldn’t help but admire their distillery equipment. Just think about it. All the booze you and your nutty friends can drink for just cents on the dollar. However; before you start brewing up you barrel of corn mash, there are just a few things that you should consider.

Play it Safe

First of all, you can die if the liquor that you make is not produced with proper distillery equipment. This is why you should only use “pure” copper or glass for the construction of your still. Copper tubing that you can buy from the hardware store definitely won’t do because it contains trace amounts of other heavy metals.

Remember to Write Home

The next thing you may be interested in knowing, is that it is illegal to distill grain alcohol without a license to do so. However; it is not illegal to possess distillery equipment, its just illegal to use it. Also, its a federal crime, so that means no county jail time but rather you will be spending any time that you get in federal prison.

Look Online

OK. So if your not afraid of dying or going to federal prison, your nest step would then be to acquire the distillery equipment that you will be using. There are several online sources, so finding what you need to build a still should be no problem.

Hey! Whats That Smell?

Another option is to buy one that is already built and they too are also available online. However; after you have gotten your hands on some distillery equipment you will need a place to operate it. Its a smelly process from start to finish, so you will definitely want to bear this in  mind.

Head for the Hills!!

Maybe you have a friend or relative that lives out in the country who will let you set it up there for a cut of the finished product? Or maybe you can pack it up and head to the hills like early moonshiners have done. Either way you definitely don’t want to do it in a residential neighborhood.

Live Longer With Liquor Flasks

Posted on 26 May 2010 by admin

We enjoy an ice-cold beer while we watch baseball or football games. We drink a glass of fine wine for dinner. And, we sip on a brandy or scotch to close a deal, or to simply beckon the sandman. Liquor, it seems, is as much a part of our lives as our organizers or our swivel chairs. But did you know that drinking alcohol moderately is one of the most effective means to achieve good health? Studies show that a sip or two of red wine helps you keep your heart healthy, relieves stress, and heightens your senses. So when used responsibly, a liquor flask’s contents could actually lengthen your life!

Moderation? What’s That?
While chatting on the Internet or by the office water cooler, the term “liquor flask” will rarely be brought up. What is it? A liquor flask is a wide container with a flattened neck. People usually store alcoholic drinks in them. Although liquor flasks are often associated with heavy drinking, moderate drinkers who use them could actually live longer lives. According to medical researchers, “moderation” refers to one to three drinks each day. Keep in mind that using one sitting to guzzle a week’s worth of moderate drinking from your liquor flask negates the alcohol’s health benefits. Also, women should generally drink about 25% less than men, due to their physical make-up and smaller size.

Drinks vs. Food and Workouts
What will exercising daily, eating a low-salt, low-fat diet, and taking in prescription medication to lose weight give you? The answer is a 20-point reduction in blood pressure, or a 30-point decrease in cholesterol level. If all these sound like they entail a lot of work, that’s only because they truly do. A daily bottle of beer or a glass of wine, however, accomplishes the same effect!

Medical studies show that working hard to lower blood pressure or cholesterol levels has a lower effect on heart disease than moderate alcohol consumption. In fact, only stopping smoking is more effective! However, keep in mind that these medical findings about alcohol do not warrant trading in your treadmill for a recliner, or substituting fruits and vegetables with burgers and fries.

Drinking to Your Health
If it seems unbelievable that the contents of liquor flasks can benefit one’s health, consider that moderate drinkers of alcohol are often healthier and live longer than heavy drinkers or non-drinkers. In fact, moderate alcohol consumption can help prevent diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, high blood pressure, hearing loss, poor memory, and even the common cold.

A survey throughout the United States showed that those who drank alcohol moderately were hospitalized significantly less for serious illnesses. Additionally, a 13-year British study of 12,000 male doctors revealed that moderate drinkers were the least at risk of death. Also, one Harvard study shows that moderate alcohol drinkers are about 20% to 30% less at risk of dying compared to those who never drink alcohol. Clearly, it pays to tip your liquor flask moderately!

Healthy Hearts, Healthier Bodies
Drinking alcohol moderately reduces your odds of dying from a heart attack. The Honolulu Heart Study learned that men who drank alcohol in moderation had a 49% lower rate of coronary heart disease. Also, one Harvard study involving 44,000 men showed that drinking alcohol moderately lowered these men’s risk of coronary disease by 37%.

Your heart, however, is not the only organ that gets to benefit if you drink a reasonable amount of alcohol from your liquor flask. Moderate drinking reduces your likelihood of suffering ailments, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, high blood pressure, memory loss, hearing loss, and even the common cold!

Many people have the notion that quitting alcohol consumption cold turkey is the healthiest choice. Believe it or not, however, drinking a little bit of Wild Turkey from your liquor flask could result in a healthier and longer life. So, here’s to life and to moderate drinking. Cheers!

For storerooms, your par should comply with your needs for your most busy workweek in any season. The amount, generated through your regular bar inventory, should be enough until you make your next order. For location-specific pars, i.e. the main bar, levels should be considerate of a particular week’s busiest day. Bar owners commonly set different pars for different seasons as well as for different bar stations. Inform of your staff of your pars by posting them in each station. Bevcheck helps you set and comply with your pars. 4. Another effective way to minimize your liquor costs is through tracking and monitoring all the orders that come in. Decide for yourself on your orders and if possible, do not depend on a salesperson or the bartender to make the decision for you. If you do not place your orders yourself, make sure that the same person makes the order every week.

5. Keep track of your weekly liquor consumption and look out for season- or day-specific trends. Make it a habit to practice “just in time” liquor inventory control and order only what you need for a week. Online-based Bevcheck helps you place orders automatically based on your pre-set par levels.
