Go out on a full stomach
Eating a healthy meal before you go out is essential to avoiding hangovers. When your stomach is full you won’t get drunk as fast, and usually you won’t drink as fast either. It has an effect on both mind and body. This also gives fuel for your body to recover from the alcohol.

Don’t mix alcohols
Mixing different kinds of alcohols such as beer, liquor, wine and whiskey, is a disaster ready to happen. Not only will is cause painful hangovers, but your body reacts different to each kind of alcohol. And everyone has that friend that had a little bit of every drink one night and got really sick, or it may have been you.

Stay away from sweet drinks
Sugar is a killer when it comes to drinking. The sugar can cause a spike and crash in your blood sugar level, and therefore spike the intensity and probability of getting a hangover. Next time don’t have too many Rum and Cokes, Daiquiris, Margaritas or any other high sugar mixed drinks.

Take some supplements before going out
Nutrition is essential to avoiding a hangover. It has been known that our bodies get depleted of nutrients when drinking alcohol, so if have some Vitamin C and B hanging around, take it before you go out. In fact, it is theorized that a depletion in Vitamin B causes hangovers.

Hydrate
Drink as much water or healthy fluids as possible. Stay away from sugar-loaded drinks. It sometimes is hard to drink water while you’re out, but at the least drink a couple glasses before you go to bed.

Get a maximum amount of sleep
The less sleep you get, the harder it is to avoid a hangover. Shoot to get a bare minimum of 6 hours of sleep, preferably 8 or more hours. Resting gives your body more time to recover from the alcohol.

Take a hangover product
There are many products out there made for avoiding hangovers. Believe it or not, some of them give excellent results so that you don’t have to wake up with a hangover. Just to name two companies with excellent product reviews is Zaca and Chaser.
